It always baffles us that some of our residents don't know about our Johnson Park Youth Center Complex!

So, we figured we'd spotlight JPYC today, and clue you in to what all they have to offer!

Let's start with the basics:

Admission: Fees - $2 per person

Children under the age of 10 will require adult supervision

Swimming Pool: The Johnson Park Swimming Pool operates seasonally, opening May 29th. Dates will be updated on our website each year. They often host after hour movie nights and other after hour events, so make sure to follow them on Facebook at City of Borger- Johnson Park Youth Center

Hours Of Operation: Opening day: May 29th, 2024, weather permitting. Mon - Saturday: 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of bad weather, check for pool closures at City of Borger- Johnson Park Youth Center.

The swimming pool will be closed on:

June 1st, 2024 - Maintenance

June 19th, 2024 - Holiday

July 4, 2024 - Holiday

Rules:

Children under the age of 10 years old will require adult supervision. Children less than 48 inches tall will not be allowed to go down the new yellow slide for their safety. Office staff will measure children; children less than 48 inches will have a red wristband put on their wrist that will notify lifeguards.

Concessions:

We have an outstanding and very affordable concession area!

No Outside Food or Beverages. Food and Beverages are not allowed into the pool area. Please place all trash in the receptacles provided.

Locks:

Locks are available for your use on facility lockers. We encourage you to leave valuables at home, but if you have things that you must bring, we encourage you to lock them in one of the facility lockers.

Gymnasium:

The Johnson Park Youth Center provides a full-size multi-purpose gymnasium equipped to support basketball, volleyball, pickleball or open play/practice. The gym offers plenty of space for Youth Sports and more. For more information on reservations and facility usage, visit www.borgertx.gov

Climbing Wall:

The Johnson Park Youth Center offers a climbing wall for recreation and enjoyment. Hours of operation vary, and guests interested in more information should contact the Youth Center.

Gaming area:

The facility offers multiple gaming consoles, couches/beanbags, Lego tables, and a multitude of other indoor/outdoor games! This is a fantastic space to host a birthday party or get together.

Park Rec: The City of Borger Summer Park Rec Program runs each year from the first part of June through the first week of August. The program is free of charge and open to all children, 1st through 8th grade, in Hutchinson County. Bus transportation is available for children located inside the city limits of the City of Borger. Nature Trail & Chad Alan Foster Memorial Biking Trail System: Located behind the JPYC facility, these trail systems offer over 6 miles of trails! Walk, jog, or bike them!

Skate Park: Our skate park features 6 ramps, and lots of concrete that will cater to anything that has wheels! Bring your skateboards & scooters and have a blast.

Disc Golf: We offer 19 holes of some pretty challenging terrain!

Dog Park: Behind JPYC is our quaint dog park. We've been working on the park for a few months and continue to make improvements! In the next few weeks, you'll notice more play equipment, better turf, and a few other surprises. Sprinklers come on at 9-10PM, so make sure you don't get wet! As always, clean up after your pets.

Pickleball: Every week, JPYC turns the Gym into multiple pickleball courts! It's all the rage! They also sell paddles, and pickleball shirts & equipment.
